Contour plug
Contour plugs, standard CEE 7/17, IEC 884-1 (DIN 49406 R) are designed for a maximum of 16 amps and a voltage of 250 volts and can be used in most European countries. Internationally, the contour plug is referred to as type D. They are used when an appliance does not require an earthing contact but requires a higher current than is permitted for Euro plugs. (Euro plugs can carry a maximum load of 2.5 amps). Insulated devices that use contour plugs include drills, hair dryers and vacuum cleaners. Our central contour plugs and central contour plugs IP44 are equipped with kink protection, are double insulated and have built-in strain relief. The pins have a diameter of 4.8 mm with a center distance of 19 mm.
