Cold device cable
Cold device cables are used to connect end devices that do not have a hard-wired power cable to the power supply. The cold appliance cable is connected to the end device via the cold appliance plug (C14 or C20) installed in the device. On one side it has the appropriate connector (C13 or C19). On the other side, the cold device cable is equipped with a Schuko plug or any other country type.
Cold device cables are suitable for all devices that do not generate a lot of heat. A maximum temperature of 70 °C is permitted at the connecting pins of the plug. Typical places of use are devices in the IT sector and household appliances.
It is not possible to connect a cold device cable with a warm or hot device plug / applicance inlet (C16/C16A) due to the different connections.
The biggest advantage of cold device cables, in addition to the easy replacement in the event of a defect, is the possibility that internationally operating device manufacturers can simply include a cold device cable with the corresponding national plug with their product.
